HVAC control issue uconnect 5 software update

Hi,

I got the notification on my 2024 JT Rubicon X this morning that an OTA software update was available, so I selected to install it before I went into work.
I came out a few hours later and see that my HVAC controls that used to select a specific temp and display it on the top corner of the screen have been replaced with a generic red/blue slider, and it appears that I've lost the ability to select a different temp for the passenger. Anybody else have this issue with the latest update?

Same here. You still have ability to select passenger if you unselect Synch option.

But I dislike not having an actual temperature number available... Have not been able to find how to get that back. There does not seem to be a setting to switch that back.

Interesting that you can get the passenger side back, I can't no matter how many different ways I select to unsync.

I've also noticed a few other weird things, I've lost icons at the top of the radio bar, in settings I have an option for power step, which I clearly don't have but doesn't seem to do anything other than make a beep sound. The physical temperature control buttons seem to do something but they don't actually change the slider bar on the screen so I have no real idea what they're doing.

It is like the update lost my vehicle config.

@JeepCares does this sound like something that can be fixed with an OTA update or am I heading to a dealership?

Back to back radio restarts (via the option in the radio) appears to have fixed things - whatever that did forced it to reload the configuration and it appears that everything is working as it should.

Yup.... I got the same thing over the weekend...... and the next day, it was back to 'temp'.

Probably the same gremlin that hides my 'current MPG'

While it’s been several months, the same thing happened to me, although update was done at dealership while I was in for some other service.
I didn’t notice it right away but when I did I took it back so they could return it to what it was. I just wasn’t sure if they had loaded software meant for the smaller screen or something along those lines. Anyway they made it right again and alls been good.

Did you get your Off Road Pages app back? Did you sign up to the trial Off Road Pages + apps and did they come back for you? (Trails Off Road / Adventure Trails, and Trail Logging). I got the update and it failed for me twice and somewhere in there I lost my Off Road Pages + apps that are part of my trial software. Check your other system settings and apps. Your software version should be U33.43-PROD if it was successful, if not successful then FCA-MY24.U29.44-PROD.

P.S. I am referring to Uconnect software, not the Off Road + button.

Wohoooooo! All working and back to normal.

Same thing here as well yesterday, hold the power/volume button in about 10 seconds to "reboot" the radio, the screen will turn black. Once the screen is black the radio will come back on, and it is back to normal. Some people say it might take a few reboots until everything is back to normal.

BTW I also had a few features show up I didn't have, like auto dimming high beams (which I plan to add with jScan) but after the re-boot it was back to normal.

The reboot is handy to know, one day I lost all touch screen capability, a reboot and all was well.

the latest update might have caused a downgrade in HVAC controls. You can try a system reboot or check with your dealership to see if a patch or rollback option is available.
