I bought my Overland in July 2019. I did a Map update and head unit update in August 2021. This was the latest version, at that time. It's been two years, I'm looking at ordering another update.

I don't think that site works anymore every time I check it it says I have the most current version
It has always told me that over the years.
But when I ordered the map update several months ago, it also said I had the latest and so far, I've not seen numbers for a later version.

The other updates we see flashing in the lower left corner seem to be not so much for the OS (Operating System) or Uconnect stuff as it is for the Sirius side of things. It never seems to impact the software version.

no OTA for me :(
You still have any remainder of the 3/36K Bumper to Bumper warranty left? Dealership will do it under warranty if you come in complaining of any symptom for the TSB.

Your prerogative.

Unless you get the OTA eventually pushed, the only other way is to order the GPS Navigation update and it will "usually" have the USB to update the radio software ware but it still may not be the latest and greatest.

As you have mention, the Uconnect website is pretty much worthless. They have not released to date any 8.4 software update for the Wrangler/Gladiator for user USB download.

Hopefully, it will go on sale soon. I'm ready to order another update.

I have the map update waiting to install - the instructions say I have to leave it running for 30 minutes. Gotta be a joke. Not willing to start the truck and walk away with it running for 30 minutes or even sit in it for 30 minutes while it runs.
The map update instructions included were pretty intense.
What's the matter with "plug it in and go enjoy lunch". Heck, even Microsoft updates aren't as convoluted as these instructions.

It has to stay running (press the ESS button so it doesn't turn off) to make sure the process is not interrupted. If it is, it can brick the head unit. I just sat there and watched it. I think it took a little over twenty minutes.

So you did it while driving?
Mine is maps only and they state it takes up to 30 minutes - for map updates?
I don't have the software update - my software us supposedly current. I have only maps and they say put the truck in the driveway, start the engine and run the update and let it run there for 30 minutes (or something like that) No way I'm burning 30 minutes of gas sitting in a driveway. I can't think of any place I need to go that's 30 minutes away so it would run long enough.

30 minutes of idling is negligible. Doubt you would even burn a 1/2 gallon of fuel.

Might as well give it a shot. I can't see map updates taking a whole 30 minutes.
