If the update started on its own, you don't need to do anything. Just leave it alone until it finishes.Dumb question time, does the JT have to be running during the update, or just the battery on?
I don't think it needs to be running or idling to do the update...Good to know it can be driven during the update. There's no way I personally would let the vehicle just sit still and idle for over 40 minutes when the option to drive it exists.
Depends on the update. Mine came up with an update message as I was pulling into a parking lot. I said OK, it started, I shut the truck off, locked it, we did our shopping, came back and drove away and it said the update would be applied at next restart.I don't think it needs to be running or idling to do the update...
It doesn't actually have to be running, but the battery voltage needs to be maintained above about 13.3 volts to keep the electronics safe from problems caused by reprogramming with low voltage. If you have a battery charger that can function as a regulated power supply, it will work just as well.I don't think it needs to be running or idling to do the update...
Just in park or having parking brake on. Mine was not runningDumb question time, does the JT have to be running during the update, or just the battery on?
Ever watch Star Trek, TOS?FWIW, it took 20 minutes less than advertised
that’s great marketing:
- “won’t they be pissed if we tell them the update will take 20 minutes?”
- “yeah, so tell it will take 40 minutes and they’ll be thankful it was just 20”
Wait till you learn it only takes 10 seconds, but they pad it out so it actually seems important, complex, and extensive.FWIW, it took 20 minutes less than advertised
