Ordering blue and I prefer tan but always have a mind for resale and have a hunch that black is considerably more popular.

Prove me wrong!
Tan, Black seats are too boring. It a nice complementary color to the pearl blue. Actually, this combination is a classic.

Is tan limited to certain trim levels? Cloth only and not leather? Was it a 2020 only? I never saw tan in the configuration tool for Overland, HA, or Rubicon, and never once saw it on a lot either, in any paint color.

Its pretty hit and miss on the build site. I don’t have the combos memorized but some trims you can get the cloth in either but only the leather in black, iirc you can’t get tan at all with some trims. It’s kinda odd but I’m sure Jeep has their reasons 🙄.

White on tan, black and tan, green and tan are all classics.
Every Jeep pic I see with tan leather is really an eye catcher.

Tan, I had it in my JK and it was nice. Also, doesn't feel like it gets as hot as black in the summer time.
It won't. Black is black because it absorbs all wavelengths of light and reflects nothing back. White is white because it reflects back all wavelengths of light.
Anything in between will vary in how much it keeps and how much it reflects back.
But you nailed it on black - it's the very worst possible "color" for sunshine and high temps.
And yet............ I like it for interiors. Weird, I know.
