Went to the dealership to get a Jeep Wave oil change/tire rotation. Of course they did a “courtesy vehicle inspection”. Got a text with items that need attention:

I of course declined their generous offer but did tell Lewis that its crazy they are asking $70 for wiper blades.

So I got curious…..

Call me a skeptic but I don’t believe Lewis was offering me the “performance wiper” for half-off. I will also be checking my blades for tears prior to their inspection.

I have to wonder if there is a person out there who thinks your average mid-tier wiper blades float in the $70 price point. Sure there are specialty and rain-X gimmicks but I don’t think I’ve paid even half that for any wiper blades.

To compoud this joke even more..…I live in Vegas. (Las Vegas sees an average rainfall of 4.2 inches a year and has on average 26 rainy days annually.)

So I have to ask…anyone want to throw a recommendation out on these Performance Wiper blades? I would think having the Jeep logo makes this a must have accessory but I don’t recall seeing any posts about it.

Charged you 30 minutes of labor for those wipers.

Excellent point! I forgot about the professional tools and skills needed for such a complicated installation.

Not sure how us normal folks can ever manage. ???

Mine makes me watch home makeover shows.

Dealerships have to make money. If they didn’t, you wouldn’t have free coffee to sip all day in their cozy waiting room while watching big a$$ flat screens promoting their over priced gas line additives and tires.

You don't mention mileage or in/out of warranty.

In my case it would still be under warranty and I would have told them to replace said battery under warranty since they have it documented as needing IMMEDIATE attention and needing replaced.

I am in Vegas also. As you and I both know blades last until they actually dry up out here…LOL. I think I have replaced them only twice in our 10 year old vehicle!!!! And this year I think we really have only had rain, what…like the other week? :)

What dealer did you go to?
