That's what baffles me - all of the talk about "but I get such fantastic MPG!"So you are wanting a Diesel for better MPG? What is the actual monetary offset of diesel vs gas, as diesel is more money per gallon? You'd only save ~$1k a year... is that enough to offset new purchase/Tax/interest rate/registration/etc?
Uh, yeah, but the cost of the money that it takes to buy the diesel due to price difference, and then there's still the big price diff per gallon.
Gas - 3.09 compared to Diesel - 4.67 per gallon
Then the diesel is another what, 6 grand? There's a money cost there.
The cost of oil, filters, DEF.......
stop bragging about the mpg - you aren't money ahead. It's just a "yeah, but I get great mpg!" thing to ignore the rest, I suppose.
If you want a diesel, buy one, but it's not going to save money. It's because you WANT one.
