For the folks that have done the knee panel speaker upgrade, especially without upgrading others at the same time, how big of a difference does it make? I've already upgraded the upper dash and sound bar speakers with the Infinity ref3032 (dash) and ref6530 (bar) and am really happy with both. I'm looking mainly for clarity and quality, not max volume or bass. Generally speaking, will I notice a further significant improvement if I swap the knee speakers for say a 6.5" two-way? Trying to gauge the effort vs. reward since I've heard lots of horror stories on accessing the lower speakers.

I would avoid the 2way speakers. A dedicated mid in that location should help your soundstage. Your biggest bang for the buck are the top of the dash speaker upgrades.

I swapped mine to a 6.5 mid component set , I put the tweeters in the sound bar, Huge sound quality upgrade. I had already swapped all the other speakers out. Taking the dash apart was not a big deal at all. Just take your time .
