Nope, just the 3.6. I probably should have just taken the fenders off and saved myself some pain.
Once you drop the fender liners its gravy.......but I also have experience as a sr tech in shops.

These Elite Series headlights come pre-aimed left/right from the factory. These should not be adjusted.

The only adjustments required are the up/down aiming of the Elite Series headlamps.

I just installed a set this past weekend on a 2018 Jeep JL and noticed the low-beam projectors needed to be raised.

It's rather simple in my experience to pull the lamps out of the bucket, use the included headlight key, raise the beam a little bit, resit them in place, check the aiming, and remove them again until aligned properly.

Once they were properly aimed as referenced in our YouTube video, you can re-install the (3) 10mm bolts, snap the grille back in place, and pop back in the grille clips.

Yeah my low beams need to be bumped up......but because I have the DD SS3 Pros in the bumper its been fine.

Iam thinking I would pass on buying a headlight that needed to be removed and re-installed to adjust, especially if the connector wasn't designed right as well and was rubbing another engine component.
I might have exaggerated the “a lot of pressure” part, but it is touching the airbox. I’m not worried about it causing problems, but it made me think I was doing something wrong when I did the install.

I don’t think I would have had as much trouble adjusting if my driver light would have had more up travel. That’s what has caused me to take it in and out so many times. I messaged support today, Saturday, so not expecting a response for at least a couple days. I’ll see what they have to say.

Like I said in the original post, I really like the light output as well as the extra features and from what I’ve read online, they will work with me to take care of the problems.

I’m mostly just sharing things here to let the next “me” know the install is a bit more challenging than what you see on the videos, but that it is well worth the trouble.

For sure, without the fender flares in the way, it is probably a 20 minute job.

My driver side adjuster also was not working correctly, they replaced it within a couple days ?
I’m still bouncing back and forth with support and haven’t gotten them to agree to send a new drivers side light out. Unfortunately, it isn’t going to get resolved before I have to make 2 6 hour drives at night at the beginning of next week. Looks like I’ll be very active turning my high beams on and off…

I should add that their email support was VERY slow, calling and speaking with a customer service rep got things moving quickly.

Just closing out the thread here. @Diode Dynamics support did a great job taking care of the issue and I’ve got the replacement light installed and working great.
Thanks for the follow-up on this thread, Dan!

Unfortunately I’m going to have to remove them again. The passenger side DRLs and Off-road lights have completely stopped working after going through a car wash. No idea what happened, but I got flickering in my main projector which went away but now now halo or off-road light on that side.

The part that really sucks is that I’ve added a new bumper and winch since install so I’ll have to remove that to get the light out.

Funny you said this, my passenger side one also got moisture in it this last week, and a replacement is already about to be delivered. Hopefully the weather seal failing isn't a more widespread issue.

With as much trouble as I have getting them in and out, it is tempting to buy some Mopar LEDs instead.

I will now have had to replace both the driver and passenger side. I’ll try for an RMA, but it is disappointing for sure.

Just got done replacing my passenger side one tonight, not fun since they're terrible to aim after installation since you can't easily reach their beam height adjusters. If I have another failure it'll be 3 times and they'll be going back for lemon law. Fingers crossed.

I've had the DD Elite Max's for almost a year now.

Pros: If properly aimed, they're great headlights... Lightshow is cool. I had much cheaper DD's in my Colorado for many years without issue, and that counts for something.

Cons: Expensive as hell to purchase, expensive/hard as hell to install, you have to perfectly aim them because the cut-off is immediate and you don't want to go in there again to re-aim, the "off road" function is nearly worthless when you can just hit the brights or use a much better exterior lighting setup.

Honestly if you have money to buy these headlights, you have enough money to buy a proper light bar.

I'm not saying I regret buying them, but it's close. If these last the lifetime of my Jeep, I'll consider it a decent purchase. But if anything goes wrong with them or one of them burns out...

I found a 4mm deep and shallow socket make adjustment easier and you dont have to take then out to do it

I still don't see how any socket/wrench combo is going to fit between the airbox and back of passenger light bucket (on the 3.6L). It's crazy tight there, and basically requires you remove the airbox to aim the light with their tool.

On the driver side, there's a bit more space, but there's a nest of factory piping right behind the light that blocks almost all access. Maybe the socket & ratchet wrench works there, but I know their tool is again near impossible to use on that side and I had to pull the headlight out to make aiming adjustments.

What bothers me the most is just how their printed instructions and most YouTube installation videos just completely gloss over how useless the factory aiming tool is without removing the lights or other engine components to even use it.
