IS THE MIDLAND 575 50W GMRS MOBILE PROGRAMABLE WITH CHIRP?

Does anyone here use chirp to program the Midland 575? Or, does it come with its own programming software? I wasn’t able to get any results re: Chirp/Midland online. I’ve been thinking of buying a 575, but I currently use Chirp. Thanks

There’s not much to program. It has all the channels set. You just set the tone for each channel, as needed.

I was wondering about settings for repeaters. Any thoughts?

It’ll work. There are probably cheaper radios with more user features than midland. Like your BTechs, Radiodity, wouxon, etc.

Thanks. The Wouxon 1000 plus is also on the list. I know it has more features. However, hiding the main unit is why I‘m considering the 575. I know the Wouxon has a detachable face plate, but I’d rather have the illuminated and visible mic controls.

In that case have you seen the btech gmrs-20v2? It’s only 20watts but a good antenna will make those 20 watts go a long way. Literally.

The 575 does not have the ability to program. All is done on the head.
