Hey all!

I did a search but must not be doing it right. I see Jeeps with all kinds of Christmas lights on them but I’ve never looked into doing it myself.

What kinds of lights are people using? How are you powering them? How are you anchoring them?

I’d really like to jump off into it in order to participate in the various Christmas parades and such, as well as just having another fun thing to do to my JT.

I’ve never done it either, but am considering joining in on the fun. Another forum member used command hooks, AC lights and powered them with the Jeep’s inverter. Pretty simple.

Go to AMZN and look for outdoor LED lights. I have a bed rack that I wrap the lights around, and did have a roof rack that I wrapped lights around as well. I had them plugged into the back of the center console. Water made the lights rust, so we tossed them. I didn't zip tie or fasten anything. Excess lights went in front of the tonneau and into the bed.

This year my wife found USB-powered LEDs.

Last year, w/o the RTT:

Not to sound like a grinch, but I think decorations of any kind on a Jeep are kind of lame. Just me though.
Naw, it's fine. Just don't drive with all the multicolored lights on - it's technically illegal and there are grinch troopers out there.
I happen to know that as a fact...........
i had my AMX all nicely lit up years ago and was driving I35 and I saw colored lights in my mirrors and they weren't all festive.
I knew better, really did - but it was so fun rewiring 120 volt lights to work on a 12 volt car system (back before LED was even a thing- we figured out the series/parallel configuration of standard lights and rewired them, plugged into the lighter.

When we get my wife's JLU back, Rudolph's nose and antler go on it. Already have the wreath on mine but it doesn't sit out enough for even bothering with lights. And in the country, who would see them but the mice and raccoons out at night.

We picked up Rudolph from the dealership after the transmission replacement.
Before we left to go get it, my wife said "can you take the nose and antlers and put them on while we're at the dealership" - she wanted 'em on right away as we're behind on decorating.
So i put on the nose and antlers and we went shopping. She was a happy person - her baby was back and it was "decorated".
