I'm doing some wiring in my truck and I can't decide if I should run a dedicated line for the sub power or not. I'm running a 6awg line from the starter battery to a blue sea fuse block for some other misc items (GMRS radio, USB charger, etc) and I'd like to just run the sub off one of the fuses (manual calls for 12awg and 20A fuse).

It will be just a 6 circuit block and all the loads I have planned will probably be less than the sub put together, so over loading circuit shouldn't be an issue.

It's not a big deal obviously to run both lines, but its cleaner to just run one large circuit and split it off. I'm not sure if there could be some issue i haven't considered, but I figured I'd ask..

This is the sub:

I believe you would be fine with one 6awg feed to cover the items you mentioned. If your on the fence about it, run a 4awg for simple peace of mind.

I am curious as to why you are tying your feed into the starter battery though. Personally, id leave that little joker alone and instead run your main directly from the main / larger capacity battery.

Thanks, that's basically what I was thinking.

I should clarify, I still think of the larger battery as the "starter" battery.. I am definitely not connecting anything to the little bastard..
