I installed the roof rack acouple weeks ago. Finally had some good weather to get the awning mounted and take some pictures.

I had a JL Sport which I traded for the Gladiator. I had an an awning mounted to Mopar crossbars clamped to the gutters on the JL hardtop. That wouldn't really work on the short gutters on the JT. The JCR rack looked like the best option for me. I also bought the black hardware pack and awning brackets. Also, if it gives me any problems, I can pull it off.

Assembly and install was very easy. As usual with everything you get now days there was no instructions. I just watched their video.

I'm really happy with it. It makes no noise and dosen't leak.

I had to make my own awning brackets. @JcrOffroad whats up with the awning brackets? They are not wide enough to clear the mounting brackets on the rack.

Wow, I love the look of that rack. Very snug with the roof line.

Thanks for posting that. It looks great! I had a Gobi Stealth rack on my JKU and I loved it but it kept me from taking my hardtop off as much if I didn't have the rack.

I want to get back to taking my hardtop off more often now that I have the Gladiator. If I want to remove my hardtop panels, or the entire hardtop, is it as simple as loosening 1 bolt at each rain gutter support and lifting the rack off? Since I need to use tools to remove the hardtop, I don't mind taking off 4 more bolts if it is that simple. It would be nice if the 2 front rain gutter supports could be behind the freedom panels so that I could lift the rack with the top but I don't think the front of the rack will have enough support if I'm carrying anything up top. The only things I put up there are pretty light anyway.

The other roof rack option I saw is the Rebel Off Road Halo 2.0 roof rack. This allows one to take off the freedom panels without removing the rack but I like the JCR much better because it's tight to the roof and I'm not a huge fan of tubular products.

I'm pretty sure you have to drill into the top for the Rebel rack. Not an option for me. I had a Sunrider. Sure going to miss it.

Yeah, I don't really want to drill either. I think my question got buried in my rambling. Is it as simple as it looks to remove the JCR roof rack...just loosen 4 bolts?

Yep, just loosen the four clamps and it comes right off. I also coated the clamps with plastidip to keep it from scratching the hardtop.

Great idea. Surprised they don't come plastic coated for $800 (maybe I'm not surprised). Thanks for the info and tip!

The rack looks great! I''m looking into this awning mount thing for you, I know we've had an awning on our JT. Will reply back asap.

What’s the real world height of the roof rack? Top of hard top to top of rack?

I have the half rack. I'm not 100% but I don't think the full and half are different other than the hardtop isn't flat and level. My rack is off right now but if nobody gets back to you in a day or 2 then let me know and I can throw them on quick and measure. They don't stick up a lot. I could guess but doubt that helps you.

Haha thanks. I actually have a JL but the tops looks nearly identical and the JL forum does not have much info about this rack.

Maybe even just measuring the side aluminum pieces height. That would give a close estimate.

Basically just trying to make sure I fit in my garage. Also looking at the go rhino srm500 w/ drill in mounts or maximus-3

It depends on where you measure, but roughly 2.25" in the center to 3.25" on the outside rails.
