Jeep Whining when letting off the gas

Are you saying that your dealership knew that the axle had been re-geared, but still offered to replace it under warranty? Never heard of that before.

No kidding - especially since the re-gear itself could have caused the bearing issue.
The shop that did it could be at fault.
So someone else does work on a differential, swapping out parts, and Jeep assumes responsibility?

They didn’t know it was re-geared.

I told them it was, after they offered to replace the rear axle.

I knew that I was voiding the warranty on the rear diff when I re-geared the Jeep so I’m not mad about it
