Hi guys. I installed my AEV 2” lift on my Rubicon yesterday. We found that the shock mount on driver side is completely different to the passenger side, and I cannot use the AEV shock extension brackets. Has anyone heard of this before?
I sent a message to AEV and they say this is a manufacturing mistake

Having not installed this kit before - could you explain in detail what prohibits using the AEV mount?

I see the ~1/4" difference in detail from the axle tube to the shock mount hole.

Personally, I'd cut the factory bracket off the axle tube, fabricate my own bracket and weld that on.

Shock mounts are about as easy as it gets to make and weld to axle tubes, hence removing the factory bracket altogether and making my own.

It's either that - or messaging the AEV bracket by cutting it and welding it to the factory bracket in the correct location.

What do you see as your options?

I’ve installed that kit, but can’t tell exactly what’s going on in the photos. There was a small batch of front axles about a year ago that had the wrong passenger (I think) shock mount. Maybe yours is one? If you can post some more clear photos, maybe I can help more. Is the back bolt hole in the wrong place?

Hi All. I went to a few workshops yesterday to check and compare with other gladiators. My driver side shock mount is not correct and is a different shape to the usual mount, so I will not be able to use the AEV relocation bracket. The welds seem to be factory standard and it was not repainted. I wonder how this happened.

@Renegade - do you know what happened with the batch from last year? Shall I have it sorted by the dealership? The quality of workmanship is not too good where I live in Middle East so I might leave the current mount and have a new adaptor made.
