Katzkin leather installed for $1099 ? Good deal?

I went by a local shop today who does a lot of Katzkin Leather installs for local dealers. They said to do any basic color is $1099. They said this is the same price they actually charged the
Dealer. They also said they could do both seats heated for 1500. I wonder if I Could negotiate more off?

What did everybody else pay, this sounds like a fairly good deal considering what it is to buy just the leather and without the install.

As someone who does upholstery. That’s not a bad price for either honestly. Yes you could get it cheaper maybe, but cheaper is not always better. If they install for a dealer they are probably a pretty decent installer or dealer wouldn’t use them.

I have the mopar premium stitched Katzkin seats from the factory and they are super nice, much higher quality than standard leather. I think they will hold up a little longer and seem like thicker leather. I have only had them a few months but love it. The cloth seats collect everything especially in my old JK and ended up being more grey/brown from holding in dust.

They told me the leather shipped costs them about $650, they pay their installer $200, shop makes $250. They said it takes right close to 8 hours to do a JL or gladiator, they did one last week.

So either your guy is somehow getting it super super cheap or he’s installing it for $110? Where is this place located?

I'm not sure of location right off hand. Ken called his guy why I was at his shop and got me a quote while we were talking about it. If I'm not mistaken he lives out in the Lake Norman area. I can find out tomorrow or Monday, Schrader's Race shop butts up to our yard but I think he's gone back to Ohio right now. I guess I should of gotten some info from him at the time. Like I said the guy is just one dude doing it and he does a lot of custom stuff.

Yeah the quote I got was for just black, no other color stitching. He had a few options that were higher priced by a $100 to a few hundred dollars but not more than $900. I just told Ken I wanted solid black when we were talking to the guy and he said he could do it for $760.

Yeah crazy thing was I had no idea about how much it was to get it done and at the time and I thought that was high. Ken's the one that suggested it and I was just thinking that's high for seat covers but I didn't tell him that. Then I started researching it and realized what it actually was and how good of price that was. Kinda kicking myself for not going ahead and having it done. It's on my short list though.

I'll get Ken to call him, they are pals I guess. He hooks him up apparently. He kept saying, I'll do cause Ken's knows ya, maybe I've said to much already,LOL!!!

your going to have every jeep owner with cloth seats going to him within 300-400 miles....!

I just found the master price katzkin list on another thread... prices were $725 and then 575 for “deluxe”, but those were back in April of 2019

that Alligns with the price my guy was saying at $750, but I wonder who gets the deluxe pricing level?

I bought the Katzkins on ebay for $650 and installed it myself. The shop that katzkin uses would have done the whole thing....leather and install....for $1500. If I was to do it over, THEY would do the install! And with a $100 tip!
