I’ve got a bit of an issue that I’m hoping has an easy fix. Yesterday afternoon, the horn on my truck just started beeping as if I’d hit the emergency button. I turned it off and it was fine for a bit and it started again. This happened another time or two and I took the battery out of the fob and replaced it. Now, every button on the fob sets the horn off. The fob will still start the truck, but every button has become an emergency button. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I would take it apart and see if something is causing sticking issues with the buttons inside...Do you have a 2nd key? Does it work properly?

I don’t have any problems with the second key fob.

You can take it apart and still use it, that might give you some clues as to the issue

Did you get it wet? If so, remove the battery and let it dry out for a few days.

Just to circle back around, I ended up taking the battery out and letting it sit for a day or so. When I put the battery back in, it worked just like new. I have no idea what the issue was, but it apparently reset itself after having the battery out for a while.

Frankly, you can apply that to any vehicle............ among other things. Imagine the crew at NASA troubleshooting the Voyager systems when they started using the wrong computer to transmit information back. Imagine, a 22 hour lag getting a command to the device out there, and waiting another 22 hours for a response.
Maybe cars and trucks should all have redundant computers and systems.
