Guys,

I've ordered a Sarge Green Gladiator with the tan cloth seats and a black hard top. I'm thinking about taking my hard top to Line-X and have them coat it a tan color to match the seats. Has anyone done something like this before? Pictures? Thoughts? How much would something like this cost?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ron

Don’t quote me on this, but spraying Line-x in the bed is ~$600, so a similar surface area would be in that ballpark. Your rain gutters might be filled-in to a point making them not work properly or making roof racks difficult to attach should you ever decide to.

The Line-X location in Decatur, Al posted these pics. They said this is a black hard top that has been sprayed with a brown tinted Line-X product.

That looks pretty good. Did they give you an estimate for how much that one was.

They do not post their prices. I’ve never used Line-X before so I’m curious if people think it will hold up in an application like this. I have no plans to remove my hard top. I take the doors off frequently but I usually leave the top in place so I’m not worried about scratching it up from taking it off and putting it back on.

IMHO, I would not be worried about scratching if I was to get my hard top covered. My bed has rhino lining (similar) and so far with multiple loads of gravel and dirt, shoveling them out there are no scratches, so I would have confidence it would hold up just fine with normal use and taking on and off. As far as the gutters for use with racks, maybe preposition them and mark with tape/ rubber so that you and installer of coating knows not to get coating in that location, then once complete install the racks on the gutters and voila no issues, just a thought. Similarly if you were to think about getting a sunrider top, get that first, see about fitment and where it might be an issue with sealing against the hard top, and just make sure there is no issue (discussions with installer before hand will be crucial in this planning.

I thought about doing this with mine, but since interior is black and likely bed cap will be black it would not be color matched

Good luck

Not a fan of the color but execution looks good. Needs to be the same color as the Spare cover.

I had line x. I’d say it’s all about the installer. The product is good. If they do it right!
