On larger Jeeps I prefer soft tops but on the truck...there's almost no reason to have a soft top, IMO.
I went through whole thought process, back and forth between soft top only, hardtop only, and dual top, before I ordered my Overland.

Ultimately I decided on HT only, with the future option to get Sunrider for Hardtop. It boiled down to, the soft top only benefits back seat passengers, and I am either alone or with just my wife 99% of the hours the vehicle is on the road. And the Freedom Panels should be good enough for the front seat.

Yes this. I hate the look of the soft Mullet Top with the fiery passion of 1000 suns. It looks friggin ridiculous and I refuse to put it on my Gladiator until they make one that can go all the way down. I love my hard top. Easy to take on/off, and only takes a few more minutes than a soft top. Really not a big deal and it's quieter, plus better protection from the elements.

In all honesty I can't wait to see a different soft top come out. Even if it's a 4 piece frameless. (Top, back window, 2 side windows)

I would love to have something that can even just roll up from the bed to the front with clips/fasteners. I want to go around without my hardtop on and be able to just toss that on real quick if it's going to rain while I'm out. I refuse to get the soft top they have out and the Mopar sunshade top for like $130 doesn't cover the back window and is secured by screws for some reason... Oh and you have to pop out the windshield and secure it by the windshield too. Nothing about that is quick and convenient. My hardtop will have less screws and work than that.

My JT is my 5th Jeep. Preferred soft top on my JK because of the back. Super easy to take the back windows out. I rarely actually had the top completely down. If I took it off, I had a bikini top, or just flipped back the sunrider piece. With the JT, no back windows to remove. Doors off, panels out, only the back seat is covered. I can't see me ever removing the whole top for that. If I found an otherwise perfect JT with a soft top, I'd have bought it.

As far as leaks, two of my JKs were soft. One leaked. Stitching pulled apart. Fortunately was under warranty.

The soft top is a pony tail. The man bun is the hard top with an open sun rider

I’m wondering how many bugs you can collect with the soft top sitting above like that + the fact their in your cab when you close it up

I would like to keep my freedom panels and just have the rear portion be convertible with slide out windows....
I wouldnt pay more than $300 for it though.
