The hard top requires a higher level of commitment on having it on or off. Make your choice for the day and live with it. The soft top allows versatility of not having to make that choice at all.

This is a not a good answer, I can have my soft top completely removed in half that time. There are only four bolts holding on a soft top. Plus, it's easier to manhandle and find a place to safely store it.
How is that not a good answer? I have a hard top and do the same. It's much better in winters where we get snow and a lot of us like it better on average because of the other positives (lower noise, better insulation, etc...) rather than having the soft top. It really isn't that big of a deal taking it off and putting it on, just a few more bolts and a bit more weight. I take mine off for days at a time and freedom panels take all of about 1.5mins and can be put in the bed.

I have a hardtop with the Bestop Sunrider, Its nice but I do like the idea of a full softop but without the man bun thing. I may pull the trigger and preorder the MyTop automatic Softop. Pricey for sure but wow the results look great. Check it out: MyTop Automatic Gladiator Top

Mine came with hardtop for which I got the Sunrider quickly after purchasing it. I had decided I hated the man bun soft top and I wasn't going to get one. Then I came across a new in the box soft top on OfferUp for a great price so I caved and got one. It is real nice to pop that thing back and enjoy more sun and air. The hard top will go back on during the winter months.

People who haven't had to deal with legitimate winters don't realize the value a hardtop has there. I lived in Milwaukee with an old YJ and had both for that very reason. I'll agree with you on that point. Even so, when summer rolls around I was switching to the soft top anyway.

The hard top has its utility for sure. As does the soft top. People just like to argue over big nothing-burgers like this.

Can't just go topless on a whim like a nice evening after work or on a trip. I can see if you live somewhere cold or need to put a rack on, you'd want a hard top. Otherwise, soft top is a winner for sure.

It rains all the time on the oregon coast. Foggy and crappy most other times. On those unusual good days when it is nice and you are able to be able to drop the top back well it's great having the soft top. But be prepared for the fog to come rolling in. Best bet is just get daul top package. Be swichting back to the hard top in September or early October

I really like how the top folds back, most convertible these days have power folding tops because they are owned by geriatric people who can't raise their hands above their head. Plus look at all these classy cars with similar tops.

Personally, I wouldn’t trade to the the hard top if you gave it to me, just defeats so much of my daily enjoyment with the truck.

I can literally be open top in under 30 seconds, drive around as desired, and then if Mother Nature says otherwise, back to closed in 30 seconds, no matter where I am…….

That to me is the whole point ha, and love and use it daily. Who gives a crap what the other cars think with my top pulled back? Man bun? Most are stuck in steel lol.
