Mapping for a Garmin 700i Montana

After dropping $699 on a 700i I opened it up to find out there are no good off-road maps on the device, Garmin's off-road maps aren't compatible, and OnX Off-Road is compatible by SD card on some Garmins but not this one. This seems odd since I became interested in it after seeing it used several times on YT vids. Does anyone have this unit that has found a good downloadable option? OnX works great on my phone but not on Android Auto on my vehicle display.

I just gor the 700I Montana as a gift. have not set it up yet, but hope to start working with it next week. It will be replacing my InReach.
Look forward to what info you find as I try to figure this thing out.

Once you realize that tracks, recordings, and activities are all exactly the same thing but totally not the same thing, you'll be good. I really like the unit but it's OS is quite clunky.
