Looking into picking up a new gladiator however have concerns with towing(long distances) and payload capacity. Just wondering if it's capable or safe.
Basically I've settled on the Mojave over the Rubicon for several reasons as I spend most of my time driving on the beach or through Maines logging roads and etc
My concern is the several trips I take to Maine each year for fishing, hiking, exploring etc. Normally I take 3-4 people(200lbs or less each) and several hundred pounds of gear plus towing a 16' Lund bass boat. Payload I'm probably near the max with 4 people and the boat with trailer probably half the max towing capacity. I can probably throw the gear in the boat and be fine to offset the payload
Would you take the Mojave up to Maine? Normally a 10-12hr drive. Would love to take the truck to explore the back woods once unloaded but the drive up and back concerns me. Normally it would be used for towing 10m to an hour away at the max.
I've trailored with my friends JK rubicon(lifted) about 2.5hrs each way and it was horrible. I know they naturally drift but man it felt like the trailer was all over the road.
