This is the same hitch I installed and it works great. I primarily use it for a kayak extension rack and towing a light utility trailer. Wish I would have known about pulling the bumper cover first as I now have the hole.You are fine. Add this little part, take the time to pull your bumper so you don't have to cut a hole, and have fun. This is more than adequate for a bike rack. I use it to tow a 2,000lbs camper. You have a factory tow package of sorts, it just doesn't have a receiver. The factory intent is you would cut a small hole in the plastic bumper, and add a ball to the bumper/hitch. You still have full lights, and everything you need for light use.
