I also have a '14 Ram 2500 4x4 with shell camper and a Thuren soft ride suspension. It has a much better range and more room. Do you think it would do those routes without damage? It will ride smooth and really goes down the freeway great.
Yes... its not a difficult road!

A 2024 attempt to make it through the Magruder Corridor, a road placed between two wilderness areas and two states. Over 100 miles long- one way, dirt most of the way (or snow). This was my first time there... over a million miles of wilderness on either side of the road. Enjoy part 1!

I live over in Helena, and one of the reasons I got my Gladiator was to do the trail. I'm thinking the 90 plus going on three weeks and another two weeks at least will have melted everything by now. Our own Elkhorns kept snow until July 10ish. For those with a bit less of ambition, the road from Hamilton to Phillipsburg MT is a fun one that even a Subaru can do most of the time. There's a neat waterfalls along the way and then a sapphire mine you can get to and Phillipsburg itself is a fun time. So, you can do that one from either the Hamilton direction (which isn't that far from the MT access to the Magruder trail at Darby). That is a great day trip or weekend camping. We have stayed at a campground close to PHillipsburg and done it as a nice day trip. Oh Phillipsburg has a great well known brewery in it. Food is hit or miss depending upon restaurants but they have like the biggest candy store in the world there and then the saphire Jewelry store (lots of other stones too) is a neat place to visit.

So, on our list as soon as I get the Gladiator set up for some light overlanding. We will be going. Wish my wife would retire but hey.

I didn't see this. You are doing the trip we had planned. Thanks this was great. It's good t live in Montana... And on this road, you noted the 19 inches of snow that hit and so I can narrow your dates as that snow was on like JUne 13th as I remember. It was like Spring started then whack. And it took another week to get started again. We got hit too but not 19 inches.

And now, a first, but here in Helena, we may have an entire month of July with temps 90 or above for every single day... Not good... We have one fire they can't stop and a plane was lost scooping water along with the pilot. Sad...

What’s the bucket for? Water?
The traditional backwoods fire safety protocol has been shovel and bucket has been around since at least the 1950's. The idea is that you can use the bucket for water (ideally) to put out a fire but also dirt to smother the fire. My guess is that is rarely used anymore but it does work, I have "doused" my campfire with dirt before to save the water I carry.
