Serious suggestion to add - if you're looking for a mobile set of tools (to keep with you), great list so far. My only added suggestion is one of those magnet backed flashlights (good cheap ones at Harbor Freight). While at Harbor Freight, grab a cheap $5 moving blanket, which you can use for cushioning stuff in the bed (ad-hoc Freedom Top scratch protection), or laying on while wrenching underneath the vehicle, etc. Heck, on the way to the register, grab a box of the 9mil nitrile gloves.

Less serious, can't go wrong with the beer, or if working under the dash, someone with tiny little hands (and good eyes) to get to the wiring location for connecting a Tazer. :)

What scares me is not a one of you that is bringing a lot of tools has mentioned a torque wrench and service manual....

Believe it or not your finely crafted and tuned physical body [loosely speaking obviously  ] is NOT capable of torque measurements. There is a reason why manufacturers have spent gazillions on engineers and design to make the vehicle operate as its supposed to.

I carry a small basic kit in my bike with the full knowledge that any repair I can/need to do on the side of the road will be redone properly when I get back to my garage.

I have both large [for the RV I used to live in] and medium SnapOn torque wrenches as when it comes to torque the best tools will give the most accurate readings.

I plan on the same method for when I finally get my Gladiator---basic tools only---with the full realization that anything I have to do gets redone back at the garage.
Just torque it down to one quarter turn befor you break it. This tried and true method has served me well.
