I managed to scoop up two 30" Baja Designs light bars for a great deal. I've got all the wiring I need, but the question is with two bars, where and how should I mount them? The previous owner had them mounted behind the grill on his Tacoma.

Here's what I've got:

Baja Designs OnX6+ 30" White
Baja Designs S8 30" Amber

I know Baja Designs typically sells the OnX6+ with brackets to mount it just above the bumper. I could do that, I have no winch, but should I mount both lights there (one on top of the other)? Or should I consider mounting one there and another perhaps over the cowls just below the windshield? And if so, which one would be best in what spot?

Or do I consider behind the grill like the previous owner? I do like having my accessories looking somewhat hidden. Definitely am not looking to mount these to shout at other people that I have them. Just in a place that looks good like it belongs.

Anyone who's done the two bar mounting or has insight into the best way to mount these guys would be wonderful.

Both of those light bars come in driving/combo pattern, spot pattern, or wide/cornering pattern. The pattern of the beams dictates what "zone" the lights light up, and where they should be mounted for the best results.

They break down the patterns, zones, and mounting positions here: https://www.bajadesigns.com/help/lighting-zones/
Ah yes, sorry I was thinking about a different characteristic. You are correct that these have the Driving/Combo pattern.

So your recommendation is to mount them stacked on top of the front bumper rather than separate them?

Stacking them, or one on the grille and one on the bumper shouldn't make any difference. I would just do what looks best. It seems like the main thing is to keep both of them below the hood line for the best performance.

Yes, I did. Sorry! Here's what I ended up with. I stacked them using Baja's mount kit for the OnX6 white light, then used stainless brackets from the hardware store to go from that up to the amber S8 light.

I think it turned out quite well. The lights are truly beastly mounted here!

Nice job! They must provide a huge amount of light.

Oh yes. Miniature suns these things are.

I have a video from my garage camera of me testing them.
