I’m not 100% sure. It was the stock 2014 MT tire. Someone else may know the make and type.
They were not Falken tires in 2014, my guess is they were BFG’s but don’t quote me on that.

My JKUHR had MT BFG and it was honestly loud on the roads. But honestly this is a wrangler/ truck off road vehicle, I knew it wasnt design to be ultra quiet. As Billyjk7 said, I ordered the MT with full intentions to take it right off and sell the stock wheels and tires for a set of aftermarket wheels/ Tires, so the MT will definitely be easier to sell on the secondary market.

Makes sense. Will look great with 35s but even better with 37s. Can't wait to see it. Has your dealer given you any updates as to when your LE JT might arrive?
All I know is that I am in D1 and my estimated ship date is May 15.

Back to the AT vs MT thing I like the looks of MT but I just don’t need the MT capabilities enough to be willing to compromise the noise issues. I’d like to be able to take a call on the interstate every once in a while.

Regarding mud terrains. I've run all my JKs with all-terrain tires of some sort. Always liked the look of the Cooper STT Pros and the Nitto Trail Grapplers but was always skeptical and cautious about wasting money on tires I might potentially regret buying. Fast forward to my JL and I decided to be different. Not only did I decide to run 18" wheels (always been a 16 or 17" wheel guy on my JKs) but I also decided to go for a Mud Terrain. I did quite a bit of research and chose the Mastercraft Courser MXT which is made by Cooper. I have to say that I have been most pleasantly surprised by them. I have close to 7,000 miles on my JL and I've been very happy with the MXTs. They are much quieter than I expected and considering I'm either topless or doorless or both the majority of the time living in sunny Florida, the little bit of noise they generate has not been annoying at all and they ride very smooth and were easy to balance. I have a 1 hour work commute with 3/4 of the drive on the interstate traveling 80 mph and I haven't regretted the decision to go with MTs one. It. Now will I run a MT on my JT? I don't think so only for the simple fact that I plan on buying a Rubicon and I don't intend on modifying it. I was very satisfied with the way it looked and the way it drove with the Falken ATs.

I went back and forth on this as well.. liking the more aggressive look of the MT tires...finally decided to go with BFG AT KO2 285 70R 17 on my stock rims ( for now). Will post a pic once I get them on.

What about the hybrid option to get the look and still have decent road noise...like the nitto ridge grapplers

I didn't like the MT's that came with mine so I got the Cooper AT3 XLT in 295/70R17. Just a teeny bit bigger than the 285's. I prefer white letters. I've run the KO2's before but they pick up a lot of rocks. I had the 315/70R17 C rated KO2 on my '15 JK and decided to go down to the Cooper AT3 XLT in 285/70R17 and had the 315's stacked up and there were hundreds of little rocks stuck in the tread.

Haha! Just read my old post.
So I ended up with the stock Falken MTs instead of the ATs. So far I've been pleased with the MTs. I'm averaging close to 19 mpg on my commute combined interstate and city driving.

Went with the new Yokohama Geolander X-A/T. I really like the look of a mud, but got fed up with the road noise over time. These tires look really aggressive and provide more traction than you're basic A/T, but are very quiet and predictable on the road. I have about 1,000 miles on them and I am very happy with the choice.
