The earlier V6's had some interesting issues, as did the Focus RS.

Towing capacity on the eco-boom was 3600 @. Usually the trailer and a bike. So somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000#. Get in the mountains, on a hot day, the computer would disengage the turbo, and you'd be back to a NA 2.0. Not pretty. Got it. Makes sense. I was wondering if you were referring to an F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost, which would seem to be a stronger tow vehicle (but waaaaaay less awesome) than the Gladiator. Your Gladiator looks amazing, especially with that wheel and tire combo. Is yours a diesel or the gasser?
