Neat model picked up by a friend

It's almost all hand-made (save for some fittings, etc.)
Don was at Coolsprings for their big antique engine deal and ran across this little gem. It's a model of a larger engine. The maker is unknown. The guy selling it trashed a lot of other stuff - he was asked to clean up, Don saw this and bought it. It has run in the past but some parts were swiped from it over the years.

It's 2 pistons, double-ended, for a total equivalent of 4 cylinders. In short - the charge is burned on each end of both pistons.
The model uses an ignition coil and spark plugs while the real one uses ignitors - a set of points in the cylinder that spark when opened (also connected to a coil, but a single winding)

The far end cylinder is a gas compressor.

Knowing Don, he'll eventually get it running. (he'll be helping me get my 7hp, 2,000 pound 2014-2016 Chapman engines running)

Cool find, that little engine-model looks wild with pistons firing on both ends. The craftsmanship on something like that isn’t easy to come by, props to your friend for snagging it. If he gets it running again, that’d be legendary.
