I found a way to the interior through the cowl weather strip near the door jam and dashboard. It's a tight fit but it's protected from the elements. Not sure I can get a photo...but I'll try
thanks. A picture would be a great help. I’m at a standstill for now until I can figure out a way to get the wiring inside.
Look at the Oracle Trigger 4, it works remote w/o wires running through the firewall
I’ve been looking at something like this but didn’t want to spend the money right now. I was also looking at the voswitch but that would require wiring
I think what you're thinking about are the instructions telling the user where the Aux leads are located...One under the glove box and the other by the batteries in the engine bay
i dont have the Aux switch option but would the wiring be there anyway?

No, the Aux Switch wiring is only installed if the switches are ordered from the factory. There is an Aux Switch kit that can be added, which requires running wires through the firewall. Take a look at the instructions for it, there may be some help there.

I installed Aux switches in my JL. There is a way through firewall I just can't remember.
Let me look

There should be a grommet in the firewall to pass wiring through. They are sometimes difficult to locate but are there. Usually one on each side (driver & Passenger). Another great way to add switches without drilling, is the Trigger Controllers from ORACLE Lighting.
