I live in Vegas so there are a lot of rocks and also a lot of sand. I’m debating to just get a Sport with max towing or go big with either a Mojave or Rubicon. Anyone live out west have an opinion? I love crawling but the Mojave is also a very good option. Is it really worth shelling out the extra cash for the Mojave/Rubicon?

You’re going to get a lot of opinions. The Max Tow is probably your best value, but the Rubicon/Mojave come impressively built. I think it depends on how much modifying you want to do. If you’re going to buy a lot of serious accessories and modifications that would replace much of the hardware on the higher-end models, you would probably be better off starting with the lower priced Max Tow to begin with. Personally, I did not want to modify much so I went with the Rubicon and love my decision. Be patient and look for a good deal either way. My JTR had an MSRP of $56,000 and I bought it for $46,000. Some here would have you believe every Rubicon sold is a minimum of $60,000. Not true. Either way you will be happy. Not as significant trim differences compared to the JL’s.

I 100% want to fit 37s. I know there aren’t many lift options for the Mojave right now. I’m leaning towards the rubicon as long as I get a good deal. I know 2 GMs here at 2 different dealerships here in Vegas so we will see. I had a TJ back in the day and was always envious of the rubicon owners. I want one just for that reason haha.

I have a diesel Gladiator Rubicon and I am getting the Rock Krawer 3 in lift running 37x12.5 Nitto Ridge grabbers. Had to wait until May to get the lift since the diesel is so new. I was getting 30+ mpg this morning on the road.

I have the diesel Gladiator Rubicon. With a 3 inch lift, it will do everything the Mojave will do and more. The locking differential and auto disconnecting sway bar is huge in ride quality. The Mojave does not have 4 to 1 crawl ratio. I love my Rubicon
