New shocks different sleeve position.

The original Mopar shock has the sleeve in the middle. The new Rough Country has it off centre as per picture. Is this critical? I tried moving the sleeve to the middle but it resisted.

To me, it almost seems more odd that your Mopar shocks weren't offset. My OEM Rubicon Fox shocks were (if memory serves), same for the Bilsteins in the Mopar 2" Lift kit I just installed. The longer portion goes towards the center of the vehicle I believe.

Yeah, I could have sworn the instructions that came with the newest Mopar lift mentioned it, but now that I am looking I don't see it. That said, I still think that's the way it's supposed to go. My laymans guess is that it's that way to push the larger diameter shock outwards a bit for clearance.

Edit: Found it.....sort of. It was in the 2" Mopar Lift instructions we had from a JL recently in the shop.

No idea there. Like I said, I feel like my OEM Rubicon shocks were also this way. Regardless, probably easy enough to determine using the part number from Rough Country.

Had a set of 0"-1.5" Falcon SP2.1 monotube shocks that had the offset eyelet sleeve on the front set. Teraflex told me it was to give better frame clearance since the tube diameter was larger that the stock shocks. .

Don't!

That is bonded to the rubber bushing. It's not supposed to move, slide or pivot.

That was my conclusion - that it was intended to be in that location.
im still not 100% sure they were the correct shocks but that's what the store gave me ¯¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
