Ohh they are definitely getting trashed

thats why I opted to just shoot the pockets.
the rest is coated in something called shark skin to keep the billet from corroding.

Shark skin is amazing people polish their pontoon boats in my marina and put that on in saltwater bay they hold up great , except the glare off polished pontoons is bright!…..Jack

Probably shark hide is what it is. I know it as a pontoon polish like @Jaxmax mentioned. It should work pretty good how you’re using it. It holds up underwater pretty well.
