My 1943 GPW next to my new 2020 Gladiator. The GPW is one of 414 radio Jeeps out of 278,000 Ford built during WWII. Radio Jeeps have a 12V PTO driven generator between the seats charging 2 bed mount 6V batteries powering a 12V fender mounted radio. Radio still works. Purchased the JT so I could pull pull the GPW on a 19 foot car hauler, brakes on both axles. Total weight 4000 lbs. Should be a comfortable weight to pull.

I love everything about this thread. That's a rolling piece of history.

...the only thing I'm scratching my head on, 70deuce, is why you didn't go with Gobi or especially Gator to match your GPW!?

Long story. First we have 4 other vintage military vehicles in OD green. Wife did not want the Gladiator in those colors. Second the Gladiator came to be because my factory ordered silver 2015 Hardrock Wrangler was totaled in a rear end collision early this month. I was hit by a lady doing 55 and she never touched the brakes. Pic of her car in this post. I’m a little partial to silver. have A few tan guys also. M936A2 wrecker is one shown below. For a shot of the GPW with the windshield down one of my buddies (Co-workers) ”pulled“ me over in front of our hangar.

I really like this. I told my wife the ultimate Gladiator accessory is a WWII Jeep and sent her a picture from this thread. She was both interested and annoyed at the same time, it was amazing!
