A few months ago I replaced my OEM 245/75R75 with Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 size 265/70R17. This is a great choice of size to replace tires of the Sport and Sport S models. I always felt like the rear was going to break loose on turns with the original 245 with the 75 profiles. Not so with the 265/70s, plus the extra width looks more aggressive. In addition, 265/70R17 are an extremely common truck/SUV tire size with many offerings from manufacturers. Other than a slight dip in MPG (about 1 MPG less), no ill effects and truck accelerates easily to 8th gear. Cheers.

An LT all-terrain version almost makes it a sports truck in handling. 9" tread width vs 7" original, but the same diameter. Preserves towing, acceleration, center of gravity. But no gain in clearance off road. So I stick with mid-level trails.

Good choice for a daily driver which has to travel hundreds of miles to get anywhere off road. (Hello, flatland USA!) While towing.

With the AT tread LT tires I lost around 2 MPG, about 10%.
