Jeep Gladiator Onboard air compressor options IMG_1159

My in bed solution, plenty of ventilation and hard wired to relay / Voswitch. I use 2 chuck system and do 2 at a time, quick / ez and not as many hoses to stow / untangle. I have 33" tire so super fast, doesn't even get hot.

This was probably 20 years ago….. we installed ARB compressor in the YJ. We had a custom air tank built that we installed underneath just behind the rear bumper (away from suspension, spare, etc). The tank was a couple used 10” diameter air tanks from a local oxygen supply business. A friend of ours cut both tanks, cut off what we didn’t need, and welded the two end pieces together. I think it was about 18” long when it was done and it already had the bungs & ports.

I’m not familiar with the compressors of today….but……. Whatever you do….I highly recommend you install a separate (auxillary) air tank

How well are you liking it in your bed? Trying to decide my location.... wheel well, underseat or bed mounted.
Love it. For me, this location is ideal for a few reasons.
I can use the tailgate to organize my tools, hoses, valvestem caps.

Since most of my air up/down days are beach days with the family, keeping the compressor noise out of the cab is a big plus.

I considered the wheel well, but was concerned about longevity of the ARB, even though they are well built.
