There’s a hidden compartment right in front of the auto gear shifter. Inside is an orange strap. Get a hold of it and pull to the left until you hear a “click”. It is now out of Park. Try backing up with the door open and seat belt off. What happens??

To put it back in Park, put the shifter in Park, grab the strap and pull to the left again to release it and engage Park.
Sounds a little scary...but thanks for that.

Just a suggestion I didn’t read through all the responses but I got this off Amazon and works great for those trail rides where the doors are still on. And when you get to camp functions as a bottle opener

Why are you riding on the trail with your door open?

You don’t open the door and check your line or check what’s behind you?
Makes sense. I don't think about all of that, because no autopark on the manuals. Does autopark function if you open the door with the seatbelt buckled? Or only with it unbuckled? It seems like if it's just looking for a buckled belt, it wouldn't have much impact. But I never unbuckle, so IDK.

I'll use the mirrors or camera to check what's behind me. I'll stick my head out to check my line. If I do open the door, I'm not moving.

Unbuckled. Otherwise buckle the seatbelt behind you.

If you open the door and put it in reverse or drive it will move just slightly then stop you.
