stalker.

I have the swoopy plain, no-lights bugshield and I've noticed it affects more than just bugs. Snow and light rain get pushed higher. The lower half of the windshield gets less than the top half.

But that could be anecdotal. I haven't removed the deflector to test.
Have noted that as well. Wasn't sure if I was remembering right or not, but it just felt different.
Snow is easily affected by the slightest air current.
It's been so long since we've had a rain I've actually driven in, I've forgotten what that's like. It rained today, then I took off for the store - and the rain stopped. Dang. My wife said as I headed out the door "I hope you get soaked".

I'm eagerly awaiting snow. My wife drove through some this morning. :D Soon.

That looks like a different AVS shield
I see why you'd think mine was backwards then. The slant is reversed on the lit one to provide a pocket for the rope light. I just filled the pocket with resin to make it look less stupid. I think I was a least semi successful

Maybe I missed it - how is the wire run and where is it wired in?

it's a simple pair of wires. it comes out from under the cover and then you get to choose how to run under the hood. I'm not drilling any holes so I slipped it under the hood near the latch and then ran it under the heat shield and around to the switched PDC box i installed. its connected to a 5 amp fuse.

you can see it peeking out right there. There's no other way to do it. I'm still on the fence on whether I like to lights enough to deal with the stupid wire. I think the lights in the Mojave hood are pretty sweet looking but I'm also the type of person that doesn't really like things on my vehicle that aren't real (fake scoops) or serve a purpose (lights at the leading edge of a hood)
I mean, they look pretty awesome, but they serve no purpose....
