The bed rails will be staying inside my bed so you’ll need to purchase new ones for it to go on your gladiator.

It's hard to tell from the pics... can it be configured as a short rack? It looks like the 4 corner supports are adjustable but I can't quite tell.

Yes you should be able to. It has a lot of adjustment built in. This is a road armor brand one. Had time to research it.

The Road Armor TRECK rack has 3 official heights: 14", 19", 23". I've had it at the 14" and 19" heights. It's a really heavy duty bedrack. Other nice thing is you can take it a part after you install and store it pretty easily. I take off the front to rear pieces and then leave the left to right arches intact.

Mine has the rail system on it for mounting but you can mount it with different brackets to the bed rail on top

mine came with both, since i got it straight from 4WP/Road Armor. i'm trying to find the part you would need to order to make it work w/o trail rails. i'm fairly certain its possible.
