I cannot find any resources online for painting fenders. I went with a Sport S because at the time for a manual it was the only way to get the max 747kg payload. The sport s with black plastic fenders does look good in real life just not in photos.

I've been living with the plastic fenders but my dream was the all murked out (mercury, full silver). What's pushed me over the edge about doing something is the fact that now for $250 you can option painted fenders on the sport s.

I was looking through mopar's parts and they only sell unpainted smooth fenders and unpainted textured. Interesting this option deletes the air dam...

First... can I buy just the silver plastic around the fog light

Second... Since I'm close to lining my bed anyway (just cannot decide linex or rhino liner) should I

  1. Get my textured fenders painted some where (body shop?)
  2. Get Mopar Rubicon smooth fenders and get them painted (just in case 35s in future)
  3. Linex or rhino line the fenders when I do the bed. I liked this guy's all red but not how the colour shades are slightly off

  4. PlastiDip the fenders silver and wheels black? (Very cheap, easy and removable Option
  5. Do nothing, wait until end of lease (see if a new gladiator sport s is less than my residual - I doubt this will happen but... With the incentives now, maybe MSRP keeps dropping or maybe a new one is only $3-4k more than my residual and the changes I want to do to mine are > $2-3k)
Here's mine

Lastly... Any tips on cleaning between the fenders and body? I don't have rocks stuck in there, just dirt... I'm thinking about taking the fenders off to clean and put turtle wax ice seal and shine... Gotta be an easier way to deep clean there.

I did a ton of Raptor Liner on my H2. All bumpers, plastics, brush guard, extended fender flares, etc. Not sure you plan on doing it yourself but the main time spent is on prep. Without proper prep of the plastics it will not stick or last. The next trick is finding the texture you want with changing the PSI on the spray gun. I thought it was easy once that was all done and the finished product was amazing.

That's what a co-worker of mine said, I could raptor line it myself relatively cheap, the secret is all in the prep. He said prep the f out of it. Scuff everything and acetone wash

I want to bed line and paint the fenders at the same time. This truck is used every day for hauling loads so if it has to be off line for a day or two they're getting done together.

Yes, I forgot what the proper ratio of prep to paint technically should be but I spend an insane amount of time on prep. Lots of 3M red pads and a final wipe solvent to take all the oils and everything off the surface. As I said, spraying was the easy part and highly satisfying to see the end product. I've had plastic parts flex with no issues on the Raptor Liner. It's a 2 part epoxy based spray so you definitely need a proper respirator while spraying.
