Painting Jeep badges

So, I want to change out the silver for black. But the cost is pretty high for Mopar OEM. Seems like it wouldn’t take much to just remove the originals and paint them. Is there any issue I’m not aware of that will make it easier just to buy them?

There are several posts on here about painting them with plastidip while on the Jeep. Easy and cheap

I replaced mine. The tailgate is very easy and there are alignment pins to ensure placement is correct

The side badges came off easily but the adhesive was a different story. Took me over an hour on each side to remove. I did have to use extra care as I had already installed clear bra on the sides.

I removed my side badges for a cleaner look and used black plastidip on the rear.
the decals came off very easy with a little hit from a heat gun, as stated above the adhesive on the badges was a bit of a pain but no match for a hear gun and some Goof Off. Also replaced the trail rated badge with a jeep performance parts badge that Came with the life kit.
