The parking brake "push button" has developed a rattle. Sits there and vibrates (rattles) as I'm driving. Noise bounces off the windows making it sound like the door panels are rattling.

is there an easy fix?

Thank you!

I have a metal “rattling clank” sometimes when I lower the e-brake handle, but that’s the only time. Might not be the same noise.

The knob appears to be loose or not secured well and sits and rattles as I drive. It didn't start like that. Slowly became a nuisance over the past 4-5 months. it looks like there's a sleeve between the button and handle. I guess I'll try to figure something out.

thanks

There is a thread or two or many about adjusting the cable underneath the console, as well as at the rear wheels. The rattle from the cables at the handle could be the root cause. I had to tighten mine a couple times. There was a clank when releasing the parking brake. If you have a clanking sound all of the time, it could be very loose.

The rear brakes on the JT, at least through the 2023 model, has both pads (disc) and shoes (drum is the inside of the rotor hat). The parking brake uses the shoes.

The adjustment I did involved removing the rear floor cup holders, a couple longer than expected bolts, tilting the console upward from the rear floor to give access, and using something handy to be a stand for the console.

Definitely sounds like loose cables. Happened to me. I tried the console adjustment and it worked for a while but then the cables actually popped out of the yoke (equalizer in the instructions). Sounded like bells ringing. I ended up taking it to the dealer. They adjusted it at the drums and now it's really tight
