Here’s my long overdue dog first aid kit.
You can buy most of this through Amazon using FSA money.

It’s nice because the bag velcros to its own molle attached panel for easy deployment. I recommend identifying it clearly as a K9 kit so it doesn’t get mistakenly grabbed for human use in an emergency.
In addition to what’s shown below I carry stuff in my own human trauma kit. Dogs are more likely to get mistaken for deer and thus get shot or get shot by crazies. A lot of off roading spots, national forests, etc., abut private property, hunt clubs, etc. Pot growers and moonshiners also set up operations in these areas, so GSW care is more important than you might think. Generally, you should also consider the following additional items, not shown below for dogs (sorry cat owners, mine stays in the house):

- Pliers/cutters for snares, traps, wires, etc.
- Trauma shears (in my human kit)
- A tick key (in my human kit)
- Disposable razor
- Ear wash (not in the bag yet)
- Rolled gauze
- Soap or wipes for cleaning contaminated paws
- Towels (I carry some beach towels)
- Trauma dressing for GSWs (in my human kit)
- Nutrition gel
- Snake bit kit (in my human kit)
- Dog boots
- Exam gloves
- Animal medications (antihistamines, anti-diarrheal, etc.)
- Hydrogen peroxide
- E-collar (I’m carrying a muzzle instead) You need to keep an injured animal from licking its wounds and/or biting you while you try and dress its wounds. The muzzle solves 2 problems.
