I have been back and forth trying to figure out if I'd get a Gladiator or not.
I have a TJ Jeep, a RAM and a nice Firehawk Firebird. I do need a truck, but the Jeep is fun for trails and the Firebird is a fun toy. I was thinking a Gladiator could replace all 3 and be a trail Jeep, souped up toy & also the truck.
Thanks to this forum I knew I would want a Sport S w/ Max Tow as I would want to lift it and go to larger tires and what not while saving the Rubicon $.
Anyways, I was in Boone the other day and pulled into Rubitrux....
I've passed by Rubitrux a few dozen times while vacationing in the NC mountains and always wanted to check it out (They sell Brutes, 392 and Hellcat swaps and all kinds of crazy builds).
So anyways I pulled in and started talking to a nice guy there and it turns out they were prepping a new Firecracker Red Gladiator for sale. And wouldn't you know it, it's a Sport S w/ Max Tow and every modification I would want to do already done (smaller fenders, AEV lift, BFG tires, LED lights, shorty bumper w/ Warn winch, etc).
Needless to say 5 minutes later I put a downpayment on it!
They had BFG MTs & chrome bead lock wheels on it - which are really nice - but I had them swap those out for some black Fuel wheels & BFG ATs. I have MTs on the TJ and I just don't want the noise on the highway.
I may go to a Borla exhaust, otherwise I am pretty happy with the way that it's built!
I'll post pics up when I get it.
As for the TJ, I stuck it on Craigslist yesterday and it sold in a few hours! I bought it for $7500 3 years ago, did a bit of work to it, enjoyed it, and ended up getting $9200 for it. Can't beat that!
For now, here's a pic of my old TJ:
I'll sell the RAM off in a month or two, which should be no problem since trucks are in such high demand right now. Mine is a 2013 but I only have 63k miles on it. As for the Firebird, I'm having second thoughts! I may have to keep that one.. lol
