So my next question is about a speaker. What have you installed for a speaker for your radio??

I recommend the MFJ ClearTone speaker (model MFJ-281). It's compact and sounds, well, very clear and loud especially in a mobile environment. Also excellent for CW. Frequency response is designed for 600 to 4000 kHz. I like them so much I've never considered anything else for a mobile speaker in the last 20+ years. Price used to be $12.95 but just checked and they're up to $18.95. Still well worth it.
