Okay....I have searched this forum and the interwebs and have not been able to find any information on this particular issue. I have a 2022 Sport W/ max tow with 3500 miles. I'm hearing A LOT of noise from the steering. I'll try to post a video, but its difficult to hear. It almost sounds like the electric assist is whining anytime the steering wheel is moved in the slightest, and when I let it go it "winds down" and stops. I've had zero issues with the steering performance, but this is getting louder and louder. I've checked the power steering fluid and it's within acceptable range. Any ideas?

My Sport S Mack’s Toe does the same thing. First noticed it around 2k or 3k miles. Still does it now at 18k miles. Dealer said they couldn’t replicate it LMAO….in my head “bitch, did you even move the steering wheel?”

Anyways, I got no clue what causes that noise. Like you, I haven’t had any performance issues either.

I took my 2020 JTR in for the same issue. Wasn’t that loud when I first bought it. Dealership said it was normal. They said they compared it to a new Gladiator on the lot and it sounded the same. I’m not convinced it should sound like that.

My 2022 does it. I assume it's normal since these are electro hydraulic assist. It sounds like an electric pressure washer but at a MUCH lower volume. Steering works perfect imo but at times when you agresively move the wheel back and forth, such as in backing out of a parking space, the electrics assist can lag a bit. MUCH better than the electric steering in my wife's Hyundai as my sole basis of comparison.

I’ll bet you all have air lock in the steering pump. Try this and prove me wrong…PLEASE!

I had it, twice. Had to put more oil in. Once was when the pump would quit, at least 8 times before dealership replaced the pump and the second time it was “low” was after the new pump was installed. (Go get a bottle of the Mopar electric pump oil before you try this)

The reservoir looks full but it isn’t. Trust me on this.
Jack your front wheels off the ground. (Engine off) crack the steering reservoir lid and steer lock to lock 30-60 times. It takes that many times to kick the air out. Have somebody keep an eye on the oil level as the air burps out and oil level goes down. Have rags stuffed around the base of the bottle to catch oil in case you have a violent burp. Now, please, just do this.

My 2022 MT does this same thing too. I have just under 2000 on it and really only hear it when my doors are off so it's not real loud but it really had me thinking there was something wrong with the PS pump. Glad I'm not the only one.
I'll try to burp the system as suggested above.

Best advice right here. But PLEASE ONLY USE MOPAR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FLUID or your gonna have a terrible day. The pumps spin extremely fast, and the lines are horizontal not vertical except the resivior and it’s all down low. Air has a very hard time escaping

A couple of the aluminum to steel box changes I’ve done took ages to bleed
