2024 Gladiator Willy’s - Having an issue where the cluster screen will not turn off after shutdown and continues to show the “press brake and push button to start” message. The letter showing the gears next to the shifter also stay on. Both even with both key fobs in the house. It’s staying on. If I leave it unlocked and try to press the brake and push to start without the fob it says no fob detected.
Researched online and found a number of suggestions from people who had this issue with previous model years :
- Tried removing the F97 (radio) fuse and putting it back in after 30 seconds.
- Tried hard restarting the UConnect system.
- Disconnected the door wiring harnesses one at a time to see if one was defunct and causing the issue.
None of those things worked.

Anyone experience this issue before and have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Talked to the assistant service manager at the dealership. He confirmed it’s a know issue at the moment by Jeep for 2024s, they have four other vehicles there with the issue but mine is the first Gladiator with it. They are hoping to have an update from Chrysler soon, but no fix at the moment. I asked what soon means (days or weeks) and he said hopefully days since it’s impacting brand new vehicles, but we’ll see. I’m going to disconnect the battery for now.

The dealership called and said that Jeep pushed a change on 2/2 that turns off the feature that was causing the issue. It was a new feature where the car would tell you if an ambulance or police car was coming down the road. For the change to take you have to disconnect both main and aux batteries and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before reconnecting. They are going to let me know when the overall problem is fixed and the feature is turned back on.

Did you ever get any other updates?

i have a 24 grand Cherokee it is happening to. Dealer said he has dozens of 24’s with same issues. Forgot name of the part but he disconnected the connect box in meantime until they can push thru a fix.

we tried battery reset and nothing fixed it.

I haven’t gotten any other updates yet. When you disconnected the battery did you also disconnect the auxiliary battery? On my Gladiator the negative connector had multiple connections and I had to disconnect all of them from each other in order to disconnect the aux battery as well. If you don’t disconnect both the screen won’t go off and it won’t reset. The dealer told me I only had to disconnect the main, but I noticed the screen didn’t go off until I disconnected all the negative connectors.

Yes disconnected everything still did not work. Dealer even said it would not work. They said problem is uconnect is continuously sending a Signal to the car, so it’s keeping it “awake” and draining the battery. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the uconnect until there is a fix. For me it has worked, only drawback when you turn on car it says uconnect box needs service and just need to click ok but everything else works as designed.

Yours must be different then. Since the battery reset mine has been working fine. Hopefully they can fix it for you soon!

What is this feature they told you about that tells you when a police or emergency vehicle is coming down the road?

Also so you’re telling me you just disconnected both batteries for 20ish min then reconnected and you were good to go?

Dealership said that it was a new feature that Jeep added in 2024. I think I noticed it a couple times before it broke things. Would beep similar to lane change warning when a car is next to you, but when an emergency vehicle was approaching. Not sure if the Cherokee battery setup is the same as my Gladiator, but here is the photo of what I had to disconnect. Had to loosen the first bolt and take the other two bolts off and disconnect from the main battery and then disconnect the two wires from each other. I had actually let it sit over night because I disconnected it before I found out they did something to disabled the feature (to keep the battery from draining), but when the dealer called they said let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes disconnected.

Yes, haven’t had any issues since I reconnected it on 2/2 or 2/3. I forget which one.

This is not a new feature. My '22 JTRD with the 8.4 radio has it. But I don't have the issues. They must have changed something for '24.

My 23 gladiator just started doing this. If you google it you’ll see it on the JL forum as well for prior years.

Puling some fuses now to see if that does anything.

My issue was with my 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave that has a JL Tazer Mini and started occurring not initially after installing a Linkswell TS-JPJL12-1RR-6H head unit but a week later when I installed MB Quarts after market speakers but specifically I think when I also installed the two 400 watt amps which I did last (issue didn’t happen with speakers a few days prior). The amps required me to unplug door wiring harness, run power cable and ground, etc. I was going to try these steps mentioned about the stereo fuse and resetting the harness but something was telling me to try unplugging my JL Tazer Mini and plug the cables back into the normal module instead. After doing this all was back to normal. I will try the Tazer again later but for now I’m leaving it disconnected since I just noticed this issue the night before my fishing trip and don’t want any issues causing a dead battery. My situation might be unique but if anyone has this problem and also has a tazer jl mini and or aftermarket stereo try this? I was going to first try rebooting the computer from the tazer menu but after realizing that I couldn’t even access the menu I tried disconnecting and viola! Fish on !
