Dear god this is amazing. Thank you!!

I’ll keep you posted if I get this fixed or just burn it to the ground 😂
I just want to make sure I’m reading this correctly bc I’m currently testing the harness with a voltmeter.

I’m not getting any reading on #15 but I’m getting anywhere btwn 9-11v (mainly bc it’s a pain to hold) on #16

Does that sound right?

Probably best way to check this is unplug the door, remove the handle and check for continuity between the handle connector and the connector for the door.

It's all coming back to me now....

That's the method I tried before but the end of the probes aren't long enough to get deep enough into the harness.

Off to the hardware store I go...

Thanks for the advice again!!

What’s the verdict? My passenger side is playing the same game.
So I finally got some free time(aka my wife took the kids to run some errands).

I checked for that bent/frayed wire as another member mentioned. As soon as I tried following the wire down into the fabric wire loom, the wire felt way too loose, the wire was pulled apart. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I tried uploading a video, but the video is too long…

I cut off the fabric loom so I could practice my soldering skills while the new harness was on order, and you’d be amazed what I found. Or considering, it’s a jeep, probably not.

There were two additional wires that were completely separated, and another two wires that were about to come apart. #ItsAJeepThing 🤦🏽‍♂️

It’s the wires in the door harness where it gets bent every time the door is opened. Those wires are very thin and get fatigued from the bending. The door harness can be repaired but the replacement harness is only about $60

Did you have to order the harness yourself? If so, do have the part # handy?

If not, I’ll search through my saved threads. I’m pretty sure I have the parts number list from all parts Mopar saved.

I've got a dealership appointment tomorrow for this exact same thing - the driver side proximity just stopped working. We'll see what they charge me to get it done. Johnston Chrysler in Hamilton if anyone is interested - So far their service has been stellar - and I'm not associated in any way.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm going to order the harness and follow the video @Gregj linked earlier in this thread.

Maybe I'll order 2 harnesses to be safe! :CWL:

Before you buy a new harness try swapping the handles side to side. There has been some handle failures and swapping them will rule that out.

I’m reviving this thread bc I finally got to replacing the harness but I’m in a bind.

@Gregj when you installed the passive entry harness, how many clips do you remember there being AFTER the grommet into the door panel?

I currently have my door and door panel apart. For the life of me, I cannot get the second clip that’s buried. Any tips?

It’s been many sunrises since I had the door apart, can’t remember how to get that out.
