Looking to trade my new Punkin orange grill for a satin black grill. I always like to have an offsetting color grill. Needs to be in great shape like mine. I live by Philly and can meet in NJ, DE, MD or PA within reasonable distance. Message me if interested. Thanks.

Have you thought about removing it (very easy/quick) and spaying it a satin/matte black? Would be alot cheaper, just FYI. Even use plastidip, so if you goof, just peel off and start over, or diff color.

I had my grille wrapped in Satin Black at SunStoppers. I liked the idea of a wrap because if I ever change my mind, I can just peel it off. Just another option for you to consider.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I was just looking for a trade. I thought someone might want an accent color. I can get a new one for $250 but didn’t want to spend that. My last Jeep had a cool grill I got from a swap.

Another consideration is the OEM Satin grille has the inserts Satin as well. One reason I wrapped my grille is that I wanted the "greyish" inserts to offset the color on my Sting Grey JT. All considerations.

if you end up buying the OEM Satin grille, it will have Satin Black inserts. Here is a close up of another forum members OEM Satin Grille - note the inserts are Satin Black too

Here is what mine looks like:

Full disclosure, I bought a separate White grille from a fellow forum member and had that wrapped in satin black. He had purchased an OEM Satin Black. Mine looked like this after wrap prior to install.:

Note: the grille inserts and headlight inserts are different between the OEM Satin Grille and the standard Rubicon inserts.

The only issue I had swapping grilles was that I have the front camera. You need the center section of the insert that accommodates the camera. Did not figure that out until I went to install.

Check out my build (and lessons learned):

It may help with a few questions, plus feel free to ask questions. I have learned a ton off of other forum members that helped me get my JT to where it is.

Wow that looks great Tri-Jab!!! That’s exactly what I want. What is the link for the grey inserts? I keep seeing silver ones. Thanks for the help and ideas. Here’s where I’m at so far.

I am just realizing that the "grey" inserts may be a Rubicon feature. You may want to find a person selling a Rubicon grille and get it wrapped. The Pumpkin would look cool with the Satin Black grille and grey insets! Looks great so far!

@tjopilot - to test my theory, I walked outside to look at my rental Sport Gladiator (I travel for work and want to keep down the miles on mine). The Sport “insets” appear to be molded as one piece.

Jeep Gladiator Punkin for black grill swap 091E1DBA-396E-42F4-B6A6-B7C92D79717E

Vs my Rubicon grille that has separate inset pieces:

Jeep Gladiator Punkin for black grill swap 8E7641AE-BB9D-4523-9083-A7BF7276B7D1

So it appears the Sport grille is four pieces - the grille and the three black “mesh” sections, whereas my Rubicon is nine pieces - the grille, three grey insets in the middle, two headlight insets and the three black mesh sections.

I am not sure what the Overland grille is made up of.

Yes - I like my Gladiator so much, I rent one at every opportunity!
