I really like the look of the pelican boxes on top like you see here with rebel's!
I think having the storage of the bed and lockable boxes on top are pretty ideal for when i go on trips. Right now i have the jcr full rack
and no raised crossbars on it:
and I'm wondering if i can get some boxes mounted on this and still have a spot for my canoe? I was thinking pelican boxes or the yakima topwater:

Will i need an additional rack on top or can i do without? For pelican boxes, can i just drill and bolt them in? For the topwater would the strap work on the rack? Sure i could get a rack on top of it that looks like an overland rack, but if i did then i wouldn't have money for boxes. That's the dillema.
