I'm running Evo's Fusion 4.5" with rear 6.5" springs from when I towed a trailer (which I don't now). I could fit 42-43" tires now (have 40s now), but would like to switch out the rear coils for coilovers.
Evo only majes a rear coilover kit that is 3-5" adjustable, so it'll lower my rear a bit. I want to make sure I can fit either a set of Treps or Bajas.
Is anyone running 4.5-5" lift with coilovers front and rear on 42 or 43" tires and can speak to the experience?
Specifically if you had to bump stop aggressively, rubbing issues, regrets, etc?
Thank you!

Hard to see the rear .. coilovers in the back? I assume you had to dial up that preload?

Can you take a pic of a rear coilover so i can see how much thread?

Also, what offset/backspace did you run and are you getting rub on turning?

Thanks!!

Yes, you will have to bump stop fairly aggressively. If you have a 70” or 72” wide axle and high line fenders that will help significantly. You’ll also need proper wheel backspacing.
I’m going to 42s when the new sizes of the Baja boss are released

Not my jeep, but if you search Way a life on youtube, you can likely find his videos that explain his setup.

I think the UD60s are stock WMS so I need to find the sweet spot for offset. I could add spacerw later but hoping to find someone who has figured it out.

I have a 60/70 from teraflex and it's 70" wide. Which UD60 are you running.
I would not trust a wheel spacer on a 42. Are you planning on running a 42x20 or 42x17?

Its stock WMS. 69".
Dont care about either wheel size. Ill get new beadlocks when I switch tires and sell my existing combo. Which ever gets me in to the offset and tire size I want.

KMC grenade crawl and machete both have good backspacing off the top of my head as well as TR beadlocks.
I believe the 20" have more offset than the 17" but it's marginal.
You might want to consider a new fender option. I know the Motobilt highline fenders gain around 3" of uptravel.
Idk what size the trepps are but anything over 13.5 is going to limit you as well.

Treps are 14.5 and the Bajas are 15.5?
I run motobilts fenders already.
I can bumpstop for uptravel, but backspacing is the trick. Keeping turning radius and keeping it from rubbing control arms is important to me. If I go with 3.5" BS Im worried I'll rib. Its close with a 13.5" Wide 40" tire already.

The Baja Boss is going to come in a 42x17x13.5 as well as a 42x20x13.5. It's also the going to be the lightest 42 on the market by a large margin. It's why I'm waiting for them to be released.

Those are both definitely important factors. Unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you on what the proper backspacing is. I'd talk to a shop that does similar builds.
I've talked to my shop who has done multiple builds with 42's and they said my backspacing will be fine. I'm running the 17" KMC grenade crawls and it seems like a common wheel for 40's and 42's

I'm running 17 KMC Machete Crawls now. I could just unmount the 40s and move a set of 42x13.5s to it. It would probably not change anything with turning radius. Then. The 15" wides would look good though!
